Unfortunately we find ourselves heartbroken yet again…upon arrival at the ER we learned that
#ProjectOakley
was in really bad shape and had a severe case of pneumonia, progressed heartworm disease and his kidney levels were off the charts
The vet advised there was no coming back from those kidney levels and we had to make the sad, compassionate decision to let him pass peacefully, with our volunteer, Antonia, there to hold him and tell him how much we all love him 
We’re heartbroken that his previous person surrendered him to the full shelter because of travel and that his whole world was turned upside down. He was then adopted by someone else and returned because he was sick. He then laid at the shelter not moving or eating for the past two days. He deserved so much better than this and we wanted so badly to save him! We are so sorry Oakley; we hope you know how much we love you and you’re forever in our hearts! A huge thanks to Antonia for being by his side showing him love, kindness and compassion
