Hound / Beagle / Mixed : : Male : : Young : : Medium
Hi my name is Cooper! My name was inspired by the movie the Fox & the Hound for my similar markings and spot on howl. I was born around April 2019, am around 35 lbs and still very much a puppy. For this reason, I’m looking for a family who is home more than not and that can keep up with my puppy energy. I am looking for a very special home that is familiar with shy dogs. Before TSDP, I was found as a stray south of Dallas and didn’t have much human interaction. This makes me extremely nervous and shy when meeting new people or in new situations. It took me several weeks before I felt comfortable allowing my foster mom to pet me or to even go outside. I’m getting better every day but still have several ‘quirks’ that my foster mom can give you specifics about. If you are patient with me, I will eventually learn to trust you and show you what the magic of rescue is all about. I love to cuddle and give sweet puppy kisses. Ear and booty scratches are also really great. I absolutely love peanut butter, treats, and the sight of my food dish, so we can definitely bond over food & help speed up the settling in timeline. I am super friendly with all the furry friends I meet and have never met a stranger. I currently live in a foster home with 5 other dogs so I’m well socialized. My face lights up when I see my foster siblings and get to play with them. I loooove running around the backyard and being on squirrel watching duty with them. You know I’m having a good time because I can’t stop smiling and my tongue nearly hits the ground. I will need another playful, confident pup in my forever home who can continue to show me the ropes and will want to play as much as I do! Outside of my playtime with my siblings, my new favorite day time activity is playing with my many toys. I love all toys.. bones, tennis balls, plush toys, squeaky toys.. you name it and I’ll play with it! Other things to know about me are that I am crate trained and treat it as my safe space. I am working on my potty training which is getting better every day. I just started leash training & will need to continue working on it with my forever people. My forever home will need a fenced in back yard for safety. If I sound like the sweet boy you’ve been searching for, please complete an adoption application & I’ll see you soon! https://www.thestreetdogproject.org/adopt Please email placement@thestreetdogproject.org if you have any questions!
