Hi! I’m Peaches, a 1 year old petite (35-40 lb) red heeler mix. I’m looking for a forever home that will be patient with me as I continue to learn how amazing life is off the streets and out of the shelter.
My absolute favorite thing to do is play with other dogs. I have 5 foster siblings, so I am well socialized and play well with dogs big and small. If you’re looking for the perfect companion for your pup, look no further. I love to run & play but also read social cues well and know when my siblings want to relax. I’m very submissive so I get along great with everyone. Having another doggy friend in my forever home is really important so someone more confident can continue to show me the ropes!
If you have a backyard, sign me up now! I love to run around with my tennis ball in my mouth, though I haven’t quite figured out why my foster mom keeps throwing it and asking me to “fetch”. I also enjoy sun bathing and I promise to chase off any dangerous backyard intruders such as squirrels!
Unfortunately, humans were not so kind to me before I was rescued by TSDP, so I’m very shy when meeting new people. In fact, it took me a few weeks in my foster home before I would let my foster mom pet my head, but now I seek small amounts of affection and gives lots of kisses! My foster mom says that she has loved watching me come out of my shell and learn to trust more and more every day. If you’re patient with me, you’ll see what the magic of rescue is all about too!
Other things to know about me are that I’m an independent gal and can entertain myself. I love playing with my many toys including my bones, tennis balls and any plush toys. After a couple minutes of playing, I curl up for a nap on my dog bed. Sleep, play, repeat! I’m also potty trained, crated trained and I’ll do just about anything you ask me to do for a “good girl snack” or “cookie”.
