There is something about Truman that reminds us of the dog Petey from the movie “The Little Rascals”. It must be that eye patch and his oh-so-loving demeanor. Truman is an all-around fantastic companion.

When first meeting Truman he calmly approaches and greets you gently. He enjoys playing but is also content to be by his humans just relaxing. Truman walks well on a leash and takes treats VERY gently. He has soulful eyes and wears a smile, especially when he is around his dog friends. He is a great size, weighing in at about 55 pounds. He does well in his crate and is housetrained. He is a quick learner, is eager to please, and does well in the car. Truman even let me give him kisses on his face!

If you are looking for a best friend to add to your family, don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind guy. His calm and gentle personality makes him a true love bug. Like we said, he will make a wonderful companion to his forever family!

We welcomed Truman into the TSDP family after shelter staff told us he was on the way to be euthanized because the shelter was out of space.  We jumped into action and said we'd take him and she literally sprinted down the hall to get him, whew!  He's an amazing dog and we're so happy he's safe!

Truman's adoption fee is $225 and that covers his vaccinations, microchip and neuter.  He's heartworm positive so we will cover treatment at one of our partner vets and then he just needs to be on monthly heartworm preventative.  Heartworm is common in Texas because there are so many mosquitoes!
