Hi!

My name is Sam.  I'm an older dog that was recently rescued from the streets.  I'm really loving having a nice person who cares for me, air conditioning and room service!

My foster mom describes me as "a very sweet, smart dog who seems perfectly happy to nap most of the day away!  That being said, he also loves going on walks, and is great on a leash.  He is housetrained and, while I’m not sure if he’s crate-trained, I will say that he’s been left uncrated for hours at a time and has never made a mess or been destructive. (I’m pretty sure he just stays on the couch the whole time.)

Sam was a little timid at first (having just been rescued from the street) but as he’s healed and settled in, he’s become more interested in meeting new people and has even become a little more playful! Sam seems to like rope toys the best, and will occasionally play a little tug. So far, he’s not much of a snuggler, but he does love hanging out on the couch and sleeping on the bed with his foster mom. Sam is currently heartworm positive, so it’s hard to know exactly what his energy level will be once he’s all better, but my best guess is that he’ll still be a pretty chill guy.  He really is just a sweet and easy-going guy!"

Here's the link to turn in an adoption application: http://thestreetdogproject.rescuegroups.org/forms/ or you can email info@thestreetdogproject.org for more info on taking me home.  TSDP will cover my heartworm treatment and I've already started taking monthly preventative.  I'm bummed one of those pesky mosquitoes got me while I was homeless on the streets but it's ok, I hear it's common for dogs to go through hw treatment and hear I'll soon be feeling even better!

Hope to hear from you soon!  Oh and here's a video so you can see me in action! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGB7Xx23QWU

Love,

Senior Sam
