I’m Anaheim! I was found living on the streets in a drain pipe with my puppy Piper. I was timid at first.  As soon as Piper and I were rescued by TSDP, I became the biggest love bug. I couldn’t stop showering everyone with kisses and tail wags. Here is a note from my rescuers at The Street Dog Project about me!

“Anaheim is such a love bug and is always on to your lap giving you kisses! Anaheim is looking for a home (foster or forever) and she will love you to pieces!  Anaheim did a fantastic job raising puppy Piper and now it's time for her to be someone's everything. We are looking for a very special family for sweet Anaheim.

Unfortunately the results of the echocardiogram was not great news. She has Pulmonic Stenosis which basically means she has a birth defect where the semilunar valve is extremely narrow thereby reducing the blood flow from the heart to the lungs. The vet recommended starting her on a beta blocker to reduce the risk of complications from an arrhythmia, so she was started on Atenolol. Dogs with this condition do not typically have a normal life expectancy as Congestive Heart Failure is extremely common with Pulmonic Stenosis. We are also consulting with a cardiologist to see if there are other options to consider.

In the mean time we hope to get Anaheim moved into a foster or forever home as soon as possible. We aren't sure exactly how much time she will have with us but we do know we all can make what time she has full of love, snuggles and cookies.  We're all rooting for Anaheim and are so grateful that we were able to rescue her from the streets and hope we can find a loving family who will cherish her.”
