Shepherd / Mixed : : Male : : Senior : : Large
On Saturday we crossed paths with a senior dog at a local shelter who captured our hearts. Due to his age and health concerns he was scheduled for euthanasia on Sunday. After some discussion our team felt we at least needed to give him a chance, that even if he couldn't be saved we didn't want him to pass unwanted and unnamed. He's neutered so at some point likely had a home. It breaks our hearts that he was found on the streets as a stray in such rough shape. We adopted him, moved him to our amazing friends at CVWR, and have been making him comfortable and giving him cheeseburgers. We decided to name him Clarence after the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". Upon examination and interaction we made the decision to let Clarence earn his wings. This is a difficult decision but with thought and wise council from the medical staff we feel it's the most merciful one. Clarence spent today in a room at the vet clinic that's set up like a living room where he watched COPS, ate burgers and chicken and enjoyed a nice, large comfy bed. We petted him and loved on him. We wish we would have been able to get him into the loving home he deserved all along but he'll always be part of the TSDP family. We love you sweet boy and hope you're at peace heart emoticon<3 |
